Over the past 18 months we have become well acquainted with Nicolas Christ Das, his wife Bandana and their son, Abishek, as they have embarked on a great venture of faith. God spared Nicolas’ life one traumatic evening when a group of radicals beat him unconscious and threw him into the forest thinking he was dead. That was 12 years ago. Nicolas knows God had a reason for sparing his life. In February 2007 I had the privilege of attending the inauguration of the Hindustan Institute of Missions (HIM) in Cuttack, Orissa founded by Nicolas in the very same neighborhood I had visited several times back in the early 70’s with Operation Mobilization.
