The first anniversary of AlongSideAsia has just rushed by with us as new residents of Tyrone, GA just a few miles from where we used to live. What a year it has been!

During this foundational year we have:

Visited our friends and partners in Asia (mostly India) for a total of 17 weeks during
Dec- Taught in several national missionary training schools in Yangaon, Burma. Many of the locations pictured on TV news coverage during the recent pro democracy demonstrations looked quite familiar. The Burmese Church is alive and advancing despite repression.
Jan-Accepted an invitation to become International Associates with the India Missions Association. Most of what we do in India is under the IMA’s umbrella. By coming alongside this alliance we are actually assisting 220 indigenous member mission agencies. What a privilege!
April-After a lot of preparation our house in Minneapolis went on the market In April.
Spring 07- Cathy led a team of six to assist Mala and Greg with the Freedom Firm ministry in South India.
June-Moved my parents to Atlanta and then returned to Minneapolis.
July- House sold, moved to Tyrone, and a week later bid farewell to Dave’s 92 year old Dad as he slipped away to heaven.
Since then- settling into our home at 535 Laurel Circle, Tyrone, caring for Dave’s Mom and setting up our AlongSideAsia home office,Â preparing the way for year 2.
Mid October- Mom went to live in Christian City, an assisted living facility 10 miles from us.

Dave will be headed to India and Singapore in mid November and early December while Cathy continues the settling process with Mom and our home. Thank you for joining us in prayer for the trip preparation and the separation.

Nov.17- Depart on Lufthansa via Frankfort
Nov. 19- Arrive in Mumbai, visit two ministries
Nov. 19 -23 in Hyderabad with the India Missions Association Staff
Nov. 24-29 in Ooty with the Malsteads and Freedom Firm
Nov. 30- Dec.7 at Bethany International University (Singapore) speaking at their graduation, visiting a missionary training school in Batam, Indonesia and participating in a GlobeServe consultation on Missionary Training.
